Intel Details Private Cloud Hurdles

Intel understands the keen interest in building private clouds as well as engaging the services of public clouds. It’s considering two areas where a private cloud would function well in its internal operations, but “…It’s not easy. It’s quite a daunting task,” cautioned Jason Maxwell, Intel’s general manager of its Server Platform Group, at the Cloud Computing Conference & Expo. Intel has heavily virtualized its servers in two areas: in the data center consolidation of legacy applications and in its shared electronic design automation tools.
